Review of 2014

Hello everybody! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and a great new years! I just wanted to give a quick overview of the past year with what I completed and new things that I learned throughout the year.

The first project that I completed was a HG Mechanics Val Walo kit that I had bought. It was really just a for fun piece to practice air brushing on so I didn't take any pictures. I was very happy with the way that it turned out though and I learned a lot working with the brush and new paints that I bought.

The second kit that I finished was my MG 1/100 Unicorn Gundam. I am really happy with how this model turned out and I learned a lot working on it. I experimented with a new weathering technique which I think gave great results. I also did a lot of air brushing on this kit and experimented with OSL in a few places. If you haven't seen it take a look at it here!

I did have a few other kits planned to finish but I just did not have the time to work on them this year unfortunately. They are however first on the list for this year! I'm currently 3/4 of the way through building a Throne Zwei Gundam, and I have a Acguy and a Gaplant Hrairoo on the work bench. The Acguy will be pretty heavily weathered and I will be practicing new techniques that I have picked up this past year too so I am pretty excited about that!

That wraps up this post, I should have more to post in the near future and if you have any questions let me know and I will try my best to answer them!

1/100 MG Unicorn Gundam

Hey Everybody!

Long time no blog post! I've been really busy these past few months between working, going to school, and then starting my internship for my Masters program. However, I was able to slowly work on finishing this kit! I took my time with it and was able to try a bunch of new things like weathering the inner frame and painting with an airbrush. I hope you guys enjoy!

Over all I am very happy with how this guy turned out! But as always we are our own harshest critic... The paint application isn't as smooth as it could have been in some places but that was mostly due to my inexperience using an airbrush and just how thin badger minitaire paints can be! Overall the minitaire colors look awesome, but they really need to step up the quality control in my opinion. Anyways.... hope you guys enjoy and as always if you have any questions, comments, critiques please let me know! :)

2013 In Review

So I thought with the year coming to an end that I would do a little recap of the work I completed and the year in general. All together 2013 was a pretty good year, I graduated from college, I started grad school, got an amazing girlfriend, and made some pretty cool models! So lets begin the recap...

Hand painting vs. Air brushing

So in my last post I mentioned that I received something special in the mail, and that would be my new air brush! Yup, that's right I am taking the plunge into airbrushing! I figured I would talk a little bit about hand painting and air brushing and why I'm making the switch.

Level Up! WIP 3: The Crad!

So I finally go to work on this model again and I'm happy to say that I am nearing completion! Everything is painted, the decals were applied, and weathering was done. I bought a pretty neat decal set from Globaltoy on Ebay. The quality was pretty decent, some of the decals were brittle but I think I will definitely be getting more decals from them in the future!
